Baseline Emissions Footprint
Measuring our impact
Our baseline year is set as 2023/24, the first year in which complete and accurate data across Scope 1, Scope 2 and relevant Scope 3 categories was collated.   As a provider of Health and Social Care, we are committed to environmental sustainability and actively strive to minimise our carbon footprint. As part of our submission and Carbon Reduction Plan we aim to provide additional details relating to baseline emissions calculations, as outlined in GOV.UK PPN 06/21.   In line with the government’s objective to transition to a low-carbon economy, we recognise the significance of accurately assessing and managing our environmental impact. We understand that baseline emissions calculations are a crucial step towards achieving this goal.   To comply with the requirements of GOV.UK PPN 06/21, we will conduct a comprehensive assessment of our operations, including energy consumption, transportation, waste management, and other relevant areas. This assessment will be carried out in accordance with recognised industry standards and best practices.   Our aim is to establish a reliable baseline for emissions calculations, which will enable us to track our progress and implement targeted strategies to reduce our carbon emissions effectively. We are committed to aligning our practices with the government’s environmental objectives and contributing to a sustainable future.

Our carbon reduction targets
We believe in measurable action, which is exactly why we’ve set concrete goals for our organisation for the years ahead:
2025Cut Scope 1 and 2 emissions by 10 per cent against baseline
2030Reduce total emissions by 30 per cent against baseline
2035Reduce total emissions by 50 per cent against baseline
2045Achieve Net Zero emissions
We also aim to compensate for all our generated emissions, including those from essential and unavoidable travel, by investing in carbon-reduction projects that are certified to international standards.
Our carbon reduction initiatives
To make sure we achieve our targets, we’re implementing multiple initiatives across our business, including:
Energy efficiencyLED lighting, smart meters and energy-saving appliances
Sustainable transportElectric and hybrid vehicles, car sharing and flexible remote working (for admin staff)
Waste reductionExpanding recycling and reducing paper use.
Staff trainingBuilding carbon literacy and awareness across our teams
Responsible procurementChoosing low-carbon suppliers and embedding sustainability in purchasing

Calculation of emissions
All emissions data is calculated using the Greenhouse Gas Protocol and UK Government DEFRA guidelines.Data comes from energy bills, vehicle logs and supplier records to provide a clear and accurate picture. All calculations are based on activity data multiplied by the appropriate emissions factors, in line with PPN 06/21 guidance.
Sustainable Plans
Our Carbon Reduction plan will be reviewed annually. Every year we will: Update the emissions inventoryAssess our progress against our targetsUpdate our targetsDetail the actions taken and those still to come   The revised plan will then be published right here on our website to ensure transparency and accountability.
Declaration and governance
Our Carbon Reduction Plan is approved by our Board of Directors and reviewed annually. We report all of our progress in line with Streamlined Energy and Carbon Reporting (SECR) requirements to ensure full transparency
